The project

Accrington Stanley Community Trust became the first club to receive the first full grant of £100k as part of the Sky Bet Building Foundations Fund.

Accrington is in the top 10% most deprived areas in the country, and with the football club at the heart of the community, the building of a new 3G 5-aside pitch as part of a larger development at Stanley Sports Hub is sure to make a huge difference to those in the community.

The Community Trust already engages with over 16,000 people through 30 projects over the course of 12 months and with this new pitch, it is projected there will be an additional 40,000 users in the next 12 months.

The pitch will primarily support adult recreational football, from over 50s and veterans, ultimately bringing together the community with a safe, inclusive space to watch and play sport. Getting people active with a social element is incredibly important to this age group who are potentially more isolated.

It was our responsibility, along with Sky Bet on how we best tell the story and the impact it has on the local community.

We’ve used JMP for several years and what makes them so great is not just the quality of their work, but the brilliance of their people. The culture of the business clearly shines through. The work is always a fantastic standard, on brief, on time, innovative and creative. Five stars.
