Why am I writing the Blogs ?

I genuinely don’t know – at this moment in time it’s keeping me entertained on the plane as my wife sleeps. But here we go …Like any other business owner and anyone who might have a young family, moments of reflection aren’t that often. So when I do have those moments – be it walking the dog, washing up, cutting the overgrown grass, ironing pleated dresses perfectly for school the next day (you get the picture) so, I thought why not scribe some of those musings.

To add some context  I have made voice notes over the last few weeks as I was planning on doing this – to help me on the way, sent them to myself on Slack and the genius that is Slack transcribed most of it for me. I’ll put it out there up front, im dyslexic and for my 44 years i have never enjoyed writing, i am always hesitant to put anything out there in the wider world for fear of correction / judgment ridicule. But with the help of google docs and the clever little blue and red lines I’m going to own it. I can’t imagine any of it will be hugely interesting, but I am hoping it will be a cathartic process that maybe helps me a little.

As the great Bob Hoskin once said, it’s good to talk – in this case write … but the premise is the same. I have no idea where the musings will take me, might start on one subject and swerve completely on to another … that’s the fun of it i guess. “Where is Meredith going with this?” … No one knows … especially not me.

Lots of people discuss it, owning a business can be lonely, it’s tough at times. If i’m honest the tougher times probably are harder than the more rewarding times but there is something that keeps driving me.

It might be that rather than reflect on the success my mind set is:

  • But what’s next?
  • But maybe we could have done this?
  • But we have plenty more to achieve.

There is a running “joke” that I’m never happy, mildly satisfied is probably closest to it for me. But that’s not the case at all. I am very proud of the journey JMP has been on and the potential we have – if I do take time to reflect I’m amazed how far it’s come and where it came from, I’m amazed that we’ve overcome the challenges that many of us have seen over the last 12 years.

But – I know there is plenty more to come from us!

JMP is a true partner for us. They have embraced our ambition and are able to offer us a full service from research to pre and post-production. In a world where brands are looking more and more for fast turnaround ‘premium social’ output that is affordable, JMP could not be better placed.

We’ve used JMP for several years and what makes them so great is not just the quality of their work, but the brilliance of their people. The culture of the business clearly shines through. The work is always a fantastic standard, on brief, on time, innovative and creative. Five stars.

We’re really pleased with not only the end product but the entire process. The team clearly understand our industry and demonstrated why they are regarded as industry leaders throughout the journey. The final videos have gone down really well with clubs and fans alike, and deliver on all of our initial objectives and beyond.
