JMP UK are delighted to announce the arrival of Steve Cotton as director of communications.
The Bristol-based agency has evolved rapidly in the past few years, making the transition from a regional sports photography business to a nationally-recognised multimedia agency.
Managing director Joe Meredith sees the arrival of experienced journalist Cotton as a logical next step in JMP UK’s development.
“I’ve been chasing Steve for a year or so now – we collaborated on a couple of projects last summer and said we would like to work together again if the chance came up,” said the managing director.
“Steve is highly respected in the industry and has a really good connection with everyone in our team. His ethos is very similar to ours, and we are looking forward to the future projects we will be working on.
“Steve offers a new dynamic for us editorially, and further enhances the range of services we are able to provide.”
Cotton, who spent a decade as chief sports writer on the Bristol Post, has also written for publications including The New York Times, The Times and The Telegraph, and most recently worked across Hybrid’s diverse range of news websites as senior editor.
He said: “Joe and I have been keen to work together for a while, so I’m really pleased we’ve been able to make it happen. JMP UK is clearly an agency that’s going places – and we’ve got some really exciting projects on the horizon.
“There is so much potential, both in this company and in this role, and I can’t wait to work with JMP’s existing and future clients, as well as with all the team here on some innovative projects we hope will be gaining plenty of attention in the not-too-distant future.”
